Duties and Responsibilities of a Cutter

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Furniture Cutter to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of cutting experience in the furniture manufacturing industry and be skilled in working with fabric and leather materials.

Responsibilities

• Select correct fabric by verifying job numbers or identifying proper leather type
• Choose and use appropriate pattern templates for each product
• Accurately outline back and seat components using provided patterns
• Cut materials using scissors or electric cutting equipment
• Attach job tickets to cut materials and forward completed pieces to the sewing department
• Maintain accuracy, minimize material waste, and follow production schedules

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience cutting in the furniture industry
• Experience working with fabric and leather
• Ability to read and follow job tickets and production instructions
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to safely operate cutting tools and equipment
